An alternative to the classic stairlift is the DomusLift. A DomusLift is essentially the same as a normal elevator. However, construction and installation are much simpler. A DomusLift can be integrated into both new and existing homes. Special features of the DomusLift are the connection to an ordinary 220V socket and the generally small space requirement..
A very convenient alternative to the stair lift is a normal lift or elevator. For homeowners, the DomusLift in particular comes into consideration. It is completely tailored to the needs of users and can be easily and comparatively cost-effectively integrated into existing or new buildings.
Who produces the DomusLift?
DomusLifts are produced by IGV Lift. IGV Lift is an Italian company that has been in existence since 1966. The company is one of the leading lift manufacturers in Europe. The production area covers 20,000 square meters. In total, IGV Lift employs about 200 people. IGV Lift has been ISO-9001 certified since 1993. The DomusLift is just one of IGV Lift’s products. Designed as the personal lift, it is the ideal solution to enable elderly or mobility-impaired people to move freely in their home without stairs. The integration of a DomusLift is possible in both new and existing buildings.
What makes the DomusLift different from a normal lift or elevator?
The DomusLift is intended as a personal elevator designed to improve vertical mobility. It is thus a convenient alternative to a stair lift. The installation of a DomusLift is relatively uncomplicated and thus possible within a few days. Compared to a conventional lift, the construction effort is significantly lower. This also applies to the installation. The DomusLift can be connected to a normal 220V socket. The electrical power consumption of 1.2 KW is also compatible with single-family homes.
The installation is favored by a small space requirement. This applies not only to the actual lift, but also to the control and power unit (dimensions only 600 by 250 by 1000 mm). The control system can also be installed up to 7 m away from the lift. Simplified documentation (certified product according to Machinery Directive 2006/42CE) facilitates the DomusLift legal preparations before installation (building permit). After installation, the personal lift impresses with quiet operation and very low service and maintenance costs.
What does a DomusLift offer?
A DomusLift can connect a maximum of five floors or 12 meters in height. The DomusLift can be installed both indoors and outdoors. Visually, the elevator blends in with its surroundings through individual cladding, doors and designs. The DomusLift is well suited for wheelchair users or in other cases where transport space is needed (for example, baby carriages or hospital beds).
During operation, the DomusLift is not only particularly energy-efficient, but also very quiet. Thus, fellow residents will not feel inconvenienced by the operation of the DomusLift. The manufacturing company IGV Lift has built up an international network of elevator companies that takes care of both the installation and maintenance of the DomusLift. This ensures that every interested party has a competent, local contact.
How and where can the DomusLift be installed?
The DomusLift can connect up to five floors, overcoming 12 meters of height. Installation is provided in many different categories of houses. DomusLifts are therefore found not only in single-family homes, but also in office buildings, administrative offices or apartment buildings. The high flexibility of the delivery program ensures that there is a solution for almost every problem. The DomusLift can therefore be used both indoors and outdoors.
The elevator car is available in six different dimensions (800 by 800 mm, 800 by 1,000 mm, 800 by 1,300 mm, 1,000 by 1,300 mm, 1,000 by 1,000 mm and 1,000 by 800 mm). The customer also has a choice of two door widths (750 and 950 mm), as well as four types of access (from the front, through-loading, over-corner or access from three sides). The DomusLift can be installed in a special masonry-concrete shaft or in a steel or aluminum frame. When designing the DomusLift, one should consider either a shaft pit of 100 mm or an access ramp.
When designing the wall panels, customers can choose between four different variants (Skin Plate, Platal, VSG, Resopal). The control and power unit can be installed up to 7 meters away from the elevator. It also requires very little space (600 by 250 by 1,000 mm). In addition to the normal DomusLift, the DomusLift S and the DomusLift XL are also offered. The DomusLift S is particularly suitable for small shafts, while the DomusLift XL model impresses with a larger transport area (e.g. for hospital beds).
What does a DomusLift cost?
Due to the different equipment and structural features, it is difficult to provide information on the prices of the DomusLift. Interested parties should therefore ask for a non-binding, individual offer. In most cases, however, the cost of a DomusLift more or less exceeds the cost of a conventional stairlift. While stairlifts are available from around 3,000 €, a DomusLift with basic equipment costs from around 16,000 €. For both types of lift, however, the prices can easily increase fourfold.
